“This black bitch was imported from Germany to Holland by Mrs S. David von Franquemont-Freudenberg (Kennel ‘vom Franckenhorst'). She was valuable to the breed in Holland. She has produced wonderful and very important progeny such as Alva, Ceylonia, Ero vom Franckenhorst (all in combination with Chico von Forell). All these dogs were also of great significance to the breed. After a number of excellent litters in Holland she was exported to Japan to the kennel ‘of Bamby's Pride'. Although she never won an important title she did always grade excellent at shows. The German judge Mr Theiss wrote of her in 1970 in Osnabrück: “a bitch with a short back and a beautiful deep chest with an excellent forechest. Good head and neck. Stands correctly in front, good tan. The eyes are not quite correct but the colour is good”.” [by J.M. v.d. Zwan: In the beginning.....A history of the Dobermann] Amarilda was the foundation female for the vom Franckenhorst Kennel in Holland. Below are her most influential litters and offspring:
