“This black bitch was bred in Germany and owned by Mr. E. Wilking. In his kennel he bred two litters with her. Both litters had included some beautiful puppies including well known Dobermanns such as Hella von Forell and Lex von Forell. She was a strong bitch with a beautiful head. The German judge Adler commented that her teeth were not properly placed. She had a good tailset, ample forechest and depth of brisket and a correct tuck-up.
She had a successful show career and in 1960 at Frankfurt she became reserve Bundessiegerin behind Alfa von Wappen zu Bremen.
Vilja was exported to England to the English judge and breeder Margaret Bastable in 1964. There she had two litters with Gin von Forell of excellent quality. The puppies were unshown because the judges said they were too different. For it was early days for continental dogs to be shown in England.”
