Caienna di Villa Castelli was a wonderful show bitch and an even better brood bitch, proving to be one of the most influential bitches in Italian history.

“Probably no single bitch has been more influential in Italy the last years than this strong black bitch. She was bred to her full brother Cito and together they produced a great modern sire, Elisir di Campovalano. Elisir proved to be a widely used stud dog that had great powers of hereditary transmission. Elisir single handily up lifted the whole Italian breed in character and proved dominant in stamping his elegant style into his offspring also. Her sire is well-known while her dam is out of Droll dei Piani di Praglia x Valkirie de la Morlière.
Caienna herself was a ‘reproduction Champion' as well as a conformation Champion. She was a bitch of excellent type and nobility, she had a beautiful head, neck, and a strong deep body with a good front and hind angulation. She could be faulted for her light eyes, her tan and a slightly rolling croup. Her character was normal.”
