“Bred in Germany this bitch proved to be an all time big winner. Berenike had a superb head and neck, set off by a balanced and compact body that according to Mr Vogel and other judges, could have been stronger in the bone and richer in tan. She had a normal character, and although she could have had more fighting drive and hardness, she was over average in her prey drive. This mix and match resulted in her passing Schutzhund III easily with good scores of 96-79-95, but failing the Körung at the same time. It's important to say here, that it says more of dogs that have tried but failed a Körung. They are often generally considered better than the numerous dogs that have never tried at all.
Berenikes greatest success though was in the conformation ring, with her becoming a multi Sieger and champion dog. She was German, International, Swiss Champion, as well as going right to the top at all the major Sieger shows. She became DV Sieger, World Sieger, Europasieger, International Dobermann Club Sieger, and Bundessieger.
It's unfortunate that she died at an early age without being mated to a dog really of her own quality. Probably her most significant offspring are the males Jaron von Nymphenburg and Jason von Nymphenburg - both Sieger and Championship holders as well as Schutzhund III dogs.
Both her sire and dam were Angekört dogs. Her mother outlived her by many years, and consequently proved to be a far more significant brood bitch.”
